P.E.T.S. Large Dog Grant

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous foundation, P.E.T.S. is pleased to announce that it has received a grant to help subsidize the cost of spaying and neutering your pet. This grant is for dogs only and focuses on larger pets (40+ lbs). Larger dogs are most likely to be kept outside where they can jump fences, run loose, get into fights, hit by cars, picked up by animal control, and get pregnant. Even if your female dog is secure in your own backyard, it is not unlikely that a roaming male will find her so irresistable that he will sneak into your yard. Puppies are expensive and birthing puppies can be dangerous for your female. Help us control pet over-population. Decrease the desire for your male dogs to roam and call us NOW to schedule an appointment to have your large, four-legged companion spayed or neutered. Our grant can help you cover the cost.

Life Savers Program

Thanks to the generosity of The Priddy Foundation, P.E.T.S. is overjoyed to announce that we will  begin our Life Savers program  2011/2012. This program  makes spaying and neutering affordable to those who receive government assistance.

For the last two years The Priddy Foundation has graced us with funding for a similiar program called PETS Helping People. Starting in August 2011, The Priddy Foundation will provide $35,000.00 in funding so we can continue to serve our community's pet owners in need. This program will allow P.E.T.S. to reduce the cost of surgery for animals of low income pet owners. Pet owners will pay ony $10.00. Since our surgery prices are already extremely reasonable, this means pet owners who may be struggling financially will be able to spay and neuter their pets for very nominal cost. It also means we will have the ability to help pet owners in surrounding communities in conjunction with our new transport program. We are deeply grateful to The Priddy Foundation for their continued support and the launch of our new Life Savers Program

This program is effective August 1, 2011, To make an appointment, just call us at (940) 723-PETS (7387).

Proof of government assistance will be required.
P.E.T.S. Bully Incentive Program
sponsored by Petco

A grant graciously awarded by Petco will allow P.E.T.S. to provide a little extra incentive to bully breed pet owners. We already have wonderful financial assistance options for surgery but sometimes owners are still reluctant. While funds last, P.E.T.S. will offer Free Rabies and Free City Tags to  pet owners who spay and neuter their bully breeds. This means not only will the Big Bully Babies be healthier and happier, but now legal too!

Look at this handsome face!

Spaying and neutering doesn't change your dog's personality. In fact, it makes them better dogs--more trainable and less likely to run away or behave aggressively. Most importantly you can help decrease the number of litters of these wonderful breeds that are most commonly abused, neglected, and living their lives like prisoners on the ends of chains. Stand up for your Bully-- Fix them and help Fix the Problem!

Bullly Breeds include but are not limited to the following: Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, Chows, Dobermans, German Shepherds, or a mix of any of the above. If you would like more information please call us at (940) 723-7387.
$38,800 for Free-Roaming Cats
sponsored by PetSmart Charities®

P.E.T.S. Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic is the very proud recipient of a grant totaling $38,800 from PetSmart Charities®. PetSmart Charities is an independent, non-profit 501c3 organization that creates and supports programs that save lives of homeless pets, raise awareness of companion animal welfare issues, and promote healthy relationships between people and pets. The largest funder of animal welfare efforts in North America, PetSmart Charities has granted more than 110 million in grants and programs benefitting animal welfare organizations, and through its in store pet adoption program, has helped save the lives of more than 4 million pets.

When you shop at our local PetSmart store and are asked if you would like to give $1.00 to help homeless pets, the donation goes directly to PetSmart Charities, which helps companion animals. Remember that their graciousness contributed almost $40,000 to Wichita Falls.

P.E.T.S. Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic and Miss Fannie's Feline Friends spayed and neutered over 600 free roaming cats in 2011. Miss Fannie's colonies sterilization rate has risen from 40% to 82%. We are confident that number will be 100% by then end of 2012.

If you have a colony of cats that you care for or know of a colony of cats that needs assistance, please call us. We are targeting specific areas but could always use help with trapping and transporting. (940) 723-7387

Hounds Habitat Project

P.E.T.S. has  teamed up with the handy and skilled students at The Carrigan Career Centerto create a steady supply of high quality large dog houses. Under the supervision of their animal-friendly leader, Scott Little, this team has agreed to build as many dog houses as they can. They are furnishing the tools, labor, and time. We just have to furnish the building supplies. We can builld a large dog house for around $60.00 which is a fraction of what it would cost to buy one new. We are asking for donations to help with this project and would be happy to come and pick up any unused good condition dog house from someone that no longer needs it.

If you would like to contribute to this worthy and much needed cause, please send in your donations to P.E,T.S., P.O. Box 4669, Wichita Falls, TX 76308 and flag your check for the Hounds Habitat Project.

As you know, Texas temperatures are extreme and many dogs lose their lives each year due to the sweltering heat or bitter cold. Providing outdoor dogs with shelter will protect them from a miserable death due to exposure. We appreciate your support of our Hounds Habitat Project. Together we are making a difference!

P.E.T.S. receives help from ASPCA

The ASPCA has awarded $10,000 P.E.T.S Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic to ensure economically distressed pet owners can vaccinate their pets. The program is called Operation Vaccination for Pet Owners in Need and will be focused on pet owners in target areas of our community. P.E.T.S. Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic, already provides low cost vaccines but prior to funding from the ASPCA, financial aide has been limited to spays and neuters. The goal of this program is to prevent the spread of disease and surrender of unhealthy animals to our local shelter and Animal Services Center. Pet owners that can not afford to vaccinate their pets can not afford to treat them when they get sick. This leads to suffering, death, and relinquishment.

Operation Vaccination hopes to reach 400 pets and is available to do so right now. No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome during clinic hours from 10-2. Operation Vaccination will include a booster and rabies shot for all pets over 16 weeks of age. Pets younger than 16 weeks of age will be given a booster every 3-4 weeks until age 16 weeks. Rabies will be administered to pets over 12 weeks of age. This opportunity is limited to grant funding available.   For more information on how to contribute to saving more lives, call (940) 723-PETS(7387) or visit www.petswf.org for more information
